Fix the source before decorating
Allow the ceiling or wall to dry before repainting.
Keep useful paperwork
An invoice that describes the exact area repaired is more useful than one saying only 'roof work'.
Do not replace sound material for appearance alone
A differently coloured replacement slate can still be perfectly serviceable.
